Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25

Down on the Farm

Wow!

I just finished my biggest cake ever. What do y’all think?

I told y’all I was working on an awesome farm cake! The whole thing was iced in buttercream, and all the decorations were made from fondant.

Although this cake was a bit on the large side, it was not really that difficult to decorate, especially since I was able to make all of the animals in advance. The biggest concern for me was just making sure that everything was straight and level. Because, let’s face it, nobody wants a “Leaning Tower of Pisa” cake.

I took tons of pictures of this cake. I hope y’all don’t mind…

These are some of the little sheep that the Tool Man helped me with. He’s so great! There seems to be nothing that we can’t tackle together. You name it…cake baking, home remodeling, landscaping, even sewing! We’ve done it all, and we make a good team.

Here’s my favorite little piggy taking a mud bath.

The birthday boy even had his own smash cake.

The finished product was HEAVY! I estimate the cake weighed about 40 pounds. There was 10 pounds of powdered sugar alone on this cake! And what’s worse, the only “help” that I had in loading and delivering the cake was Lucy. My poor little arms, affectionately nicknamed “twigs,” had quite a workout lifting this cake.

The best compliment I got on the cake came from Lucy. She told me it was, “Nice,” and, “Sweet.”
