Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25

In the Doghouse

This little cake was made for a little guy’s first birthday.

I was pretty much free to do whatever I wanted with this cake.  Mom’s only suggestion was that the cake have some blue and brown on it.

So I figured, what could be cuter than a sweet little puppy?

Except for maybe a sweet little puppy with a heart on his behind.

Y’all be sure to check back again this weekend, because Braedyn is having an awesome farm-themed birthday party with an equally awesome cake to match!  The Tool Man and I spent last Sunday afternoon sculpting all sorts of fondant farm animals – sheep, pigs, cows, ducks…you get the picture.  I bet you didn’t know this, but the Tool Man is a sheep sculpting fool.  He was whipping out wool like it was nobody’s business!

P.S.  Unfortunately, Lucy is sick…again!  She had fever over 102 Monday night.  We spent a half a day at the doctor Tuesday.  Looks like she’s just got a really stubborn sinus infection, so she’ll be taking some powerful antibiotics for the next two weeks.  Hopefully she’ll be well soon!

P.P.S.  About 5:00 this afternoon, before I was able to publish this post, I got a call from the Tool Man.  He had wrecked the cake!  Gasp!!!  Yep, he was showing the cake off to some friends and accidentally smashed the top of the cake.  Thankfully, I was able to repair the damage and have the cake looking good about one minute before it was picked up.

Whew!

As for the Tool Man…

Well, he just may be sleeping in the dog house tonight.
